Our project’s short film, the Little Fish and the Crocodile, has not only enjoyed a fantastic four month exhibition at the Museum Barberini in Potsdam as part of the Congo Tales exhibition, it also recently began it’s festival tour around the globe! We are extremely proud to announce that our little film has won two awards on our festival tour so far!
The first one was in Brussels: MUNDI COMPETITION, Filem’On Award Short film, https://filemon.be/en/awards-filemon-2018/. The film won a “Mundi” awards, that’s given by a jury composed out of filmmakers and people working in humanitarian fields.
From Brussels Eva flew directly to Chicago, where the film was shown at the Chicago film festival. This prestigious festival gives the winners of their Live Action and Animated Shorts categories are eligible to submit to the Academy Awards for nomination consideration.
And we won!!
1st prize in Chicago, Professional Jury: Best Live-Action Short!!
With this award, we are officially allowed to apply for an Oscar nomination! We are so incredibly grateful for this opportunity to share this labor of love with a larger international audience and to put the amazing people of Mbomo on the world stage. We are humbled.
